Testimonial:
When I was doing my A Levels all my friends were planning to go to university. I didn't want to go to university but at the same time I didn't really know what to do next either. I had a few meetings with Mark which were very helpful in helping me making up my mind with what to do next.
-- Rob G, IT Technician, Worthing College

Testimonial:
I wouldn't be here if someone like you hadn't had faith in my personal and academic ability to achieve what I put my mind to.
-- Sarita J, Law Graduate

Testimonial:
Before I went to see Mark at school I was unsure of what career path I wanted to take and if university was something I would enjoy. After just 2 sessions, Mark had helped me to realise that I was very interested in doing Social Work and it helped me plan for my A Levels. I'm now at Sussex University studying Social Work and still love it!

FAQs

Top 10 FAQ’s

1. What’s the difference between a Careers Adviser and a Careers Coach?

In my experience there are many crossovers in terms of the process and skills used (e.g. goal setting, measurable outcomes). However with career coaching there is a greater emphasis on the whole person and the impact career decisions have on other areas of their life. A possible ‘spin-off’ from my style of careers coaching is that if another part of an individual’s life is having a significant impact of their career, they can be ‘coached’ on this issue too.

Another significant difference is that no advice is given during a coaching session as a Coach believes that the individual has the resources to find the answers within themselves.

Coaching also involves using motivation and confidence boosting techniques. Although I am qualified in both disciplines, 95% of my work with clients is coaching rather than advising.
2. Can coaching sessions fit around my job?

Other than during the day, coaching can take place in the evening up to 8pm and Saturday mornings. We would discuss mutually convenient times during the foundation session.
3. How much does it cost?

It varies depending on the number of sessions. Please phone to discuss details and prices.
4. I would prefer face to face coaching. Do I have to pay extra for this?

The foundation session is face to face within London or Sussex and there is no extra charge for this. There is an extra charge for face to face coaching sessions and the amount depends on the location.
5. Isn’t telephone coaching a bit impersonal?

Not as much as you might think. The majority of my sessions take place over the phone and many of my initially reticent clients have agreed that it’s convenient and not as strange as they thought it might be. In addition, we can have sessions via Skype which is free if you have access to a pc.
6. Where would the foundation session or subsequent face to face sessions take place?

There are a couple of venues I use in London and Brighton. However, we can be flexible with this. The best type of venue will be somewhere free from distractions where you have the space to think creatively and be inspired.
7. Do I have to pay for all sessions up front in one go?

It is preferable that payment is made up front, before the foundation session. However, we can discuss payment plans to suit your situation.
8. How do I know how many sessions I will need?

We will discuss your goals during the foundation session. The recommended minimum is 6 for lasting impact and change (based on client experience). However, we would always come to an agreement on the number of sessions needed.
9. If I attend a workshop, does that mean I will not need one to one coaching?

It depends on your individual circumstances. If you feel that the workshop has been sufficient to kick-start your new career direction into action and you make the most of the support from other participants, the workshop may be sufficient. If you feel you are still struggling to achieve your goals, then one to one coaching will be the quickest and most effective process for creating a successful career transition.
10. What if I feel I have not benefited from our coaching sessions?

If you feel you have not benefited from our sessions together I will refund your money back. I hope that this money back guarantee illustrates my total commitment to giving you my very best in order to help you move forward.

If you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact me for a free, no obligation consultation. Remember you are in control of your career journey. I am simply available to join you – albeit for a brief period - on the journey towards a job you’ll love.
