Turn Your Dream Into A Reality:
Wave goodbye to the monotony of the 9-5 and become a scuba instructor with Padi and GoPro-Asia.
Are you bored of the 9-5 work week? Sick of the endless rat-race? Well, you're not alone. Many people wake up on a Monday morning with a sense of loathing, discontent and downright unhappiness. They don't enjoy their jobs, but are not confident enough to make a change, and so the endless cycle continues.
Society expects us to begin a career once we reach a certain age, but its perceptions of what a 'career' encompasses are limited. Success is defined in terms of earnings, seniority and material gains, rather than enjoyment, fulfilment and job satisfaction. Pressure from our family, friends and society can push us into a long, unhappy career, but it doesn't have to be this way. You can leave behind societal expectations and pursue your dream career. You can wake up every morning excited to go to work. As a dive instructor, every day is a new adventure, and thanks to GoPro Asia's dive instructor training in Thailand, your dream could become a reality. Read on to find out more and dive into your dream career.
A Dream Career
Spending every day by the beach, in the sea, and in a hot climate is a stark contrast to a week in the office, but this is the reality of life for a scuba instructor. Although not a traditional career route, a career as a scuba instructor will usually provide you with enough of an income to live by the sea-front, daily human (and sea-life) interaction, and something which few other jobs offer – satisfaction.
All of this, not to mention the endless opportunities to travel around the world's most beautiful resorts and most stunning countries. As a qualified and experienced scuba instructor, job security is rarely an issue. It is relatively easy to find work across the world, and some even use their experience as an opportunity to travel, working along the way to increase their funds. Sounds like the perfect career doesn't it? But getting an initial foot in the industry is not always so easy.
Challenges
As you would expect, demand is high for such a desirable career, but so is supply. Even so, many people who hold instructor qualifications still struggle to land their dream job as a dive instructor, often because their perception of the job is just that, a dream. To get onto the career ladder, the right attitude is essential. Although being a scuba instructor offers many perks, there is still work to be done, and evidence that you are a hard worker is important. And so comes the age old catch-22, you need experience to get a job, but can't get any instructor experience without prior work. Fear not, with the right training, it is possible to land your dream job as a diving instructor.
